Job Description:
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Serves as the Senior Officer of the Corporation who is responsible for credit risk management for the institution as a whole. The CCO, in conjunction with the Senior Lending Officer and President, drafts loan policy and loan review policy recommendations for the Loan Committee and formulates procedures for implementation of same. Accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations, bank policies and procedures.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supervises credit underwriting, credit analysts and loan operations staff
- Oversees the credit administration function of the Bank
- In isolated circumstances, approves loan requests over established limits when Loan Committee cannot meet in a timely manner
- Responsible for the internal risk grading system of the Bank
- Assures adherence to risk rating system and, as necessary, recommends revisions to the Loan Committee
- Oversees the loan-related technology systems of the Bank
- Supervises collection efforts, including workouts
- Coordinates resources and assists the Senior Lending Officer, Senior Consumer Lender and Senior Mortgage Lender in monitoring portfolio quality
- Participates in preparation of the Analysis of Allowance for Loan and Lease losses and coordinates with the CFO/Controller to assure proper reporting
- Serves as a management contact with regulatory bodies on credit risk matters
- Assists Senior Lending Officer and other Loan Department heads in developing recommendations for loan policy and procedures
- Serves as secondary management contact with outside loan review service provider
- Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university; or ten or more years of related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in accounting, management and supervisory skills. Five years commercial lending experience.
