VP, Director of IT

Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:  The Director of IT is responsible for leading, managing, and developing the service management functions within the Information Technology organization of CBI. The incumbent oversees technical operations, information security in the areas of: user accounts’ access management, IT service desk, incident management, request management, problem management, end-user communications, desktop and virtual desktop management, change management, assets data integrity, life-cycle and reporting, service level management, and knowledge management.

 

This position is responsible for providing senior level contributions to a geographically distributed, client service oriented, and agile IT Service & Support group. This role works closely with the stakeholders to provide technical ownership over business applications. The Director will drive adherence to standards, processes, and policies and create documentation for prescribed areas. Incumbent plays a leadership role in supporting industry applications; this covers front-end web applications and back-end systems, messaging, and database systems, as well as interaction between enterprise level common components.

Essential Duties

 

  • Enables and champions an IT service and applications support culture
  • Major incident management
  • Service desk, incident, request, problem and knowledge management
  • IT infrastructure and software configuration items or assets life-cycle management
  • Governs and leads incident and problem management and escalations, release and change management, and configuration and management
  • Manages IT risks and complies with industry compliance requirements
  • Proactively monitors processes and continually identifies service improvement opportunities
  • Manages the administration of the IT Services and Business Applications team
  • Helps develop and manages the enforcement of IT policies and standards
  • Provides clear and concise status updates for agreed upon metrics to appropriate stakeholders
  • Develops, motivates, leads and manages IT service management professionals in delivering and supporting technical and non-technical services to troubleshoot/resolve IT support incidents
  • Identifies opportunities for appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and processes, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing and internal development
  • Recommends solutions and assists with technical issues, root-cause analysis and presentations
  • Acts as liaison between the IT division, business owners and vendors to provide technical expertise

 

Experience:

•             7+ years of increasingly responsible experience in an IT support environment.

•             5+ years of supervisor/managerial responsibilities.

•             Practical experience with PC and LAN/WAN based software and hardware technologies.

•             Practical experience supporting financial industry and/or regulated industry applications desired.

•             Experience with Jack Henry financial systems or equivalent core systems support is preferred.

 

Skills/education/experience required:

Bachelor's degree in related field; five years of previous leadership experience as an IT Manager to include project management experience, preferably in banking.
