Mortgage Loan Processor

Job Description:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 

Works closely with all office personnel to ensure smooth processing of mortgage files. Understands and helps manage the current pipeline of work that the MLO’s need accomplished in a timely manner. Arranges for title searches and obtains necessary documents. Ensures the preparation and processing of forms and legal documents required for residential loans.  

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Prepares loan files after closings; performs secondary review of compliance checklists and secondary market requirements for sale eligibility
  • Assist with escrow processing, hosting closed loans to the core, initiates entries to the core for participations sold, submits necessary data to secondary market investors
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of underwriting and government regulations
  • Has strong commitment and dedication to internal and external customer service
  • Proficiency in Byte Pro Enterprise, Laser Pro, maintenance of tasks, scanning and document creation is beneficial
  • Must have exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees
  • Excellent organizational, time management and computer skills required
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision is critical

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent, plus additional training equal to two years of business-related college courses or related work experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.  Work related experience should consist of a background in loan skills.  Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.
